Cambridge is only a short train or coach ride from London, and is very handy to Stansted Airport for international visitors (we’d recommend getting the train from the airport). You can get relatively cheap flights into Stansted from many major European cities, but the earlier you book, the cheaper they will be.

Trains, planes and automobiles

We highly recommend checking out the University of Cambridge Travel Information page for visitors. It includes driving directions and car parks, places to visit, the University Map, and links to websites with details of all the modes of transport.

Getting Around

Cambridge city centre is very small – you can walk across from one side to the other in around 30 minutes. You can therefore get to most places of interest by foot or bicycle. However, do bear in mind that if you are being hosted you may be a little further out.

Most of our venues are just outside the ring road where it is easier to park, but still very close to the city centre. The Friday night venue is also only a 5 minute walk from the train station. We will be sending out an information pack with maps and directions to all of the venues closer to the time.  There is on street parking available in Cambridge that is often free in the evenings but we recommend you check any restrictions displayed on signs near your chosen parking bay; there are sometimes different restrictions even on the same street.
