Since closing booking for follows we’ve had several women registering as leads.  We are very sorry but we will not be accepting female leads unless you are well known to dance exclusively as a lead at the vast majority of events you attend.

Women who both lead and follow will almost inevitably end up following over the course of the weekend, and it would therefore be unfair to the follows present, not to mention those who couldn’t get a place, to allow anyone to book as a lead who doesn’t exclusively dance as a lead.

We are very excited that CLX has been so popular this year, we didn’t expect to sell out of follow passes so quickly!  We are sorry not to have the capacity to allow everyone to join us, but hope that you understand we are limiting follow places so that we can all enjoy a more balanced dance floor.

For those who can’t make the whole weekend, we are announcing prices for the Saturday and Sunday dances.

The Saturday evening dance is £17 non-members / £15 members.  There will be live music from Blue Harlem and includes snacks, the midnight munchies and the blues after-party.

The Sunday tea dance is £13 non-members / £11 members and has live music from the Colin Hazel Trio and including lots of cake!

Tickets are sold strictly in advance and are limited, please email bookings @cambridgelindyexchange.co.uk to make a booking or for more information.

We’re sad to say we’ve had to close bookings for single follows in order to make sure we have a good lead/follow ratio .

Follows can still secure a place if they book with a lead – to do this, both participants should put the name of the person they’re booking with in the “general comments” section on their booking forms.

We’ve only opened registration for about 10 days and have already sold a good proportion of the weekend passes.

To keep our numbers nice and even we’ll be closing booking for single follows very soon, so do book quickly and follows:  please book with a partner if possible (just mention who your partner is in the comments box).

We’re pleased to announce the schedule for this year’s exchange.  We’re very excited to have music from Blues Harlem and the Colin Hazel Trio.  We’re also happy to announce a return to Newnham College (from CLX’07) for the Saturday night dinner.

Our third Lindy Exchange will take place on the weekend of 16-18th October 2009.  The events list will be published soon, as details are confirmed, but the weekend will have a similar structure to last year.

CLX 08 was such a fantastic success we have set the dates for next year already – CLX 09 will be on 16th to 18th October 2009.

We had a sell-out year this year, with 100 people joining us for the whole weekend, over 120 people at the Saturday night dance and more cake than you can shake a stick at.  The committee are incredibly grateful to all of the lovely people who came from so many different places and made it so much fun.  We could also not have done it without all the brilliant volunteers, hosts and bands, so a huge thank you to all of you.
